Five-Way Cincinnati Chili Soup
A tasty and comforting soup that is based on the famous Cincinnati chili. It has a special mix of spices and is served over spaghetti noodles with different toppings.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 can 15 oz kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can 14
- 5 oz diced tomatoes
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked spaghetti noodles
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Chopped onions optional
- Chopped fresh cilantro optional
Instructions:
In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until cooked through
Add chopped onions and minced garlic to the pot and cook until softened
Stir in beef broth, diced tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, cinnamon, allspice, cloves, and cumin
Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally
Season with salt and pepper to taste
To serve, place a portion of cooked spaghetti noodles in each bowl
Ladle the chili over the spaghetti
Top with shredded cheddar cheese and chopped onions or fresh cilantro if desired
